The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences started in the year 2022 with three departments i.e. Department of Biotechnology, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Department of Medical Microbiology. Faculty of Allied Health Sciences is offering B. Sc., M. Sc. and PhD programs in all the three departments since its establishment. The B. Sc. programs in all three disciplines are run as per National Education Policy-2020. Currently, there are 15 faculty members in Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. All the faculty members are highly skilled and research oriented. Faculty of Allied Health Sciences organizes seminars, symposium, workshops and conferences on regular basis which makes the students and faculty members of its to be updated in their own area of medical sciences and biotechnology. Faculty of Allied Health Sciences has recently received funding from Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India for organizing “Science Popularization Lecture Series”.
SBTI was established in 1995 with its headquarters in the Department of Biotechnology, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin. The society is dedicated to the advancement of biotechnology specially to unite scientists, students, academicians, doctors, industrialists and professionals. The society promotes the exchange of scientific information through workshops, conferences and publications in the emerging areas of biotechnology. The society has 18honorary members, more than 2000 life and ordinary members from various fields of Biotechnology.
